exploring different mediums as a way to play, express, and grow creatively.

Hi, I’m Juana! 🌻

I’m an art enthusiast who finds joy in getting my hands into a little bit of everything, ink, paint, clay, you name it. For me, creativity isn’t just something I do; it’s how I move through the world. Life feels a little brighter with paint on your hands, ink on your fingers, and maybe even a bit of clay under your nails. There’s something special about embracing the process, letting go of perfection, and allowing creativity to unfold naturally.

I’m an emerging calligrapher, watercolor artist, and a lover of all things art. Since 2015, I’ve been deeply immersed in watercolor and calligraphy, slowly branching out into new mediums as curiosity leads the way. My creative journey is rooted in exploration, constantly learning, experimenting, and finding inspiration in both structure and spontaneity.

As a middle school art teacher (which means there’s never a dull moment), I bring that same spirit of curiosity and play into my classroom. I’m passionate about helping students loosen up, try new things, and discover that there’s no single “right” way to make art. I believe confidence grows when we give ourselves permission to explore, make mistakes, and enjoy the process.

My background in both art and special education shaped the way I teach, allowing me to create a supportive, inclusive space where all students feel seen, capable, and inspired to express themselves. Art, to me, is not just about technique, it’s about building confidence, finding joy, and creating meaningful connections.

Outside of the classroom, you’ll usually find me lettering, painting, or working with various mediums, chasing that balance between structure and flow. Whether I’m practicing calligraphy, layering watercolor, or shaping something new, I’m always returning to that sense of curiosity and wonder that first drew me to art.

At the heart of it all, I’m simply an art learner, someone who believes that creativity is a lifelong journey, and that there is always something new to discover. 🌻
